ATOMIC WARFARE PRECAUTIONS

BRITAIN SAID TO BE AHEAD OF UNITED STATES WASHINGTON, March 16. The chairman of the United States Joint Congressional Atomic Energy Committee (Senator Brien McMahon) said to-day that Britain’s civil defence precautions against atomic warfare were more advanced than those of the United States. Senator McMahon told the press that he had reached this conclusion after his committee had heard the views of experts it a closed meeting. The United States Navy to-day announced that it had learned how to store large quantities of live skin for two weeks in the event of an atomic attack.
