DAIRY MARKETING COMMISSION

TWO MEMBERS TO RETIRE

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 13. Mr F. P. Walsh (Wellington) and Mr W. G. Macartney (Tai Tapu) members of the New Zealand Dairy Products Marketing Commission, will retire in August. Mr Walsh is a Government representative and Mr Macartney a producers’ nominee. The act governing the.appointment to the commission provides that the one Government nominee and one industry member shall retire at the end of the third year. Similar retirements are to take place at the end of the fourth year. The commission’s third year of office ends on August 7, 1950, and as the Dairy Board has given an undertaking to discuss the nomination for the industry’s appointment at ward conferences starting in April it has been necessary for the commission to decide in accordance with the act which members will retire this year. The retirements were dealt with at the March meeting of the Commission.
