TEACHER FACES SERIOUS CHARGES (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 10. A jury in the Supreme Court, after a retiremeht of 25 minutes to-day, found Robert David Gear, aged 32, school teacher, not guilty on five charges of indecently assaulting girls aged eight and nine. The Crown Prdsecutor (Mr Y. It. Meredith) said that Gear was the teacher in charge of Stds. 1 and 2 at the Normal Primary School, Ensom. Evidence was given by the children and their mothers. , Gear, who was defended by Mr Henry and Mr Sheffield, gave evidence denying the allegations. He said that when he heard of these he approached Education Board officials and asked fdr an inquiry.
