Roading Problems

Discussion on roading problems, which culminated in a suggestion that a Royal Commission should investigate the Dominion’s entire transport system took place at a conference of the Northland ward of the New Zealand Counties’ Association at Whangarei yesterday. After various speakers had criticised the state of the transport system, the chairman (Mr Belton) said he was in favour of a commission but there were too many conflicting interests, such as transport operators, the farmihg community and motorists, which would be involved. “Bias might creep in,” he said. The discussion then lapsed.-AP.A.
