WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

HINDS MEETING On the February meeting day members and friends of the Hinds Women’s Institute travelled to a very pretty spot, the Temuka Domain. It was not long before all gathered together for lunch and a hot cup of tea. At the conclusion of lunch, business was dealt with, Mrs J. Ambler presiding. “Make the most of everybody,” was the motto. Nominations for the committee were received for the annual meeting. Mrs Ambler read a letter received from our “link” in England. After the meeting the party met at the pottery works, where Mr Corbett, later joined by Mr Lovett (manager) explained the process. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea, and each received a gift, which was much appreciated.
