EIFFELTON COUNTRY GIRLS’ CLUB

WIND-UP SOCIAL a merry throng or country folk gathered at the Eiffelton Hall last Thursday night for the Eiffelton Country Girls’ Club annual wind-up social. As the club goes into recess from November until March, on account of the busy season, this was the final event for the year. Guests at the social were members of the newlyformed Mayfield Country Girls’ Club and members of the Hinds, Mayfield, and Tinwald Young . Farmers’ Clubs. Over-60 members of these clubs were present. On behalf of the Eiffelton Country Girls’ Club, Miss P. Crossman (president) welcomed the guests of the various Y.C.G.C. and Y.F.C. clubs, and said she hoped they would have an enjoyable evening. Miss B. Bennett, president of the Mayfield C.G.C., thanked the club for the kind invitation. Mr A. Davison spoke ou behalf of the Mayfield C.G.C. thanked the club for the kind invitation. Mr A. Davison spoke on behalf of Hinds Y.F.C., and A. Baxter for the Mayfield Y.F.C. Mr R. Dabourn, musician for the evening, taught the young folk some of the new dances. During the evening novelty dances and games were enoyed by all. The winners were: Games, I. McConnell, Miss J. Bratley and R. Profit; novelty dance, Miss E. Lill and I. Read. Mr J. Davison was master of ceremonies and Miss B. Taylor played a piano extra. Supper was served by the hostesses.
