Wright (chairman), Chapman, Stitt, Jones, Davison, Thomas, Buckley, Maynard, Paul, Pauling, Harper, and H. Friedlander. —Southland Show: Messrs E. Gates and W. F. M. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO (From the “Guardian,” Dec. 5, 1924). House Sales—The - house property market in Ashburton has been fairly active of late, though it is quieter this week. During the last two weeks one firm of agents handled half a dozen transactions, this amount of business being somewhat less than that put through in an early period. One agent stated that sellers are easing their prices a little. There is a fairly good enquiry for handy-sized, modernlyequipped dwelling-houses.—Personal: The Rev. George Miller, Moderator of the Presbyterian Assembly, left Ashburton this morning for his home at North-East Valley, Dunedin. Mr Miller was in Ashburton for several ’days in connection with the jubilee of the St. Andrew’s Church, of which he had charge for 10 years.
