OBITUARY

MR G. F. INGLIS (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 30. George Frost Inglis, a senior member of the reporting staff of the “New Zealand Herald” since 1927, died today at the age of 63. He was, widely known not only as a journalist, but also for his close and active interest in the work of the Presbyterian Church.

Mr Inglis was one of the early members of the New Zealand Journalists’ Association. He was president of the Otago Journalists’ Union in 1921, and 10 years later he aiso accepted a term as president of the Auckland union.

Mr Inglis, who was the younger son of the Rev. G. B. Inglis (minister of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church from 1593 to 1913), spent his early years in Ashburton. He attended the High School and commenced his career in the newspaper world in the literary department of “The Ashburton Guardian.”
