FRANCO REGIME

STILL REPUGNANT TO U.S. (Roc. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 22. The United States Secretary of State, Mr Dean Acheson, has told the British Foreign Secretary, Mr Ernest Bevin,'that American will not permit the Franco regime to be overthrown by Communists or Spanish Left-Wing extremists, says the “Daily Mail.”

Mr Acheson has explained that full recognition of General Franco is still repugnant to the United States, but that it is essential to take every possible means to avoid Communist expansion. Mr Acheson and Mr Bevin also agree that India is the most logical bastion for building up against Communism in the Far East, They agree that India should be given every possible linancial and economic assistance to ensure her-stability.
