ANOTHER FIXE DAY The Aveather in Ashburton to-day was fine and sunny, with Avarm temperatures. Recordings taken at 9 o’clock this morning at the Domain Avere: Maximum temperature 63.6 degrees, minimum temperature 43 degrees, earth temperature 43 degrees, barometric readings 29.71 inches. Eight points of rain fell overnight, and the sunshine totalled 6.1 hours yesterday. MAINLY FAIR (p.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the folloAving statement regarding the weather: General situation: A loav pressure trough is moving east over New Zealand, and pressures remain high to the north. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as folloAvs:— Moderate variable winds, freshening at times on the coast; considerable rain in the Alps and scattered shoAvers elsewhere, especially about Banks Peninsula, but weather mainly fair; temperatures cool. Further outlook: Similar conditions.
