BOWS v. RIFLES

TRIBESMEN ATTACK POLICE (Rec. 11 a.m.) CALCUTTA, Aug. ID. Five tribesmen were killed and six injured, when police fired on a hand of Bengal aboriginal Laiks, in a village in the Bislmupur district, 100 miles west, of Calcutta. The tribesmen, armed with ■ hows and arrows, and daggers, attacked a police party when they went to the village to arrest Communists who had taken refuge there. Twelve Laiks were arrested and several policemen were injured.
