BRITISH COMMUNISTS (Rec. 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 19. The vice-chairman of the British Communist Party, Mr Palme Dutt, speaking on the party’s candidates for the party’s election programme, said there would be 100 Communist candidates. at the next election. “We are a. republican party, which means abolition of the monarchy,” he said. “The monarchial constitution is getting rather out of date.” Mr Palme Dutt claimed that Britain’s gold and dollar reserves would run out within 12 months, even with Marshall Aid, and then there would be over 1,000,000 unemployed.
