ELECTIONS DEMANDED
EASTERN ZONE OF GERMANY (Rec. 9.5 a.m.) BERLIN, August 17. Elections in the Soviet zone of Germany were demanded to-day by Deord Dertinger, general-secretary of the Soviet zone Christian Democrat Union, the German News Agency in the Soviet zone reported. He said that elections to the West German Federal Government had completed the splitting of Germany, and now was the time for the Eastern zone likewise to elect a zonal parliament. — Reuter. '
