PLEASANTLY SUNNY Almost constant sunshine prevailed in Ashburton today, the warmth tempered only by a very light easterly breeze. Last light too, was milder than of late, and there was no frost this morning. Records for the past twentyfour hours (up till 9 a.m. to-day) read: Thermometer, maximum 55.0, minimum 43.4, earth temperature 49.5; barometer 30.24 and rising; hours of sunshine 2.9.
FAIR AND WARMER (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General situation; An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows:—.
Light to moderate variable winds; some morning low cloud or fog, otherwise fair and cool; frosts to-night. Further outlook: Fair and warmer.
