INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE LONDON, April 16. Russia will attend a conference of the international Red Cross, to be held in Geneva on Thursday, to draft a new convention to protect civilians in an atomic war, says Reuter’s Berne correspondent. Hungary and Albania have also accepted invitations to the conference, which lias been ‘summoned by the Swiss Government. Several other Eastern Governments, including Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia, had previously refused to attend. The conference, besides asking for a new convention for the protection of civilians, will modernise the existing conventions on the treatment ,of wounded and prisoners of war.
