INDIAN BUDGET
DEFICIT ANTICIPATED (Rec. 12.45) NEW DELHI, Feb. 28. The Indian Finance Minister, Dr. John Mattaha, estimated a deficit of approximately £11,092,000 sterling at the existing level of taxation when he presented his Budget for the new financial year to Parliament to-day. The main features of the Budget were: Revenue for the next year estimated at £230,805,000 sterling and expenditure at £241,897,000. Defence services are estimated to cost £116,572,000 this year and £118,027,000 next year.
