THE ALLENTON CLUB The opening carnival of the season was set down for Thursday, January 20, at a meeting last' night of the Allen ton District Amateur Swimming Club. The president (Mr R. G. Woodham) presided over a good attendance. Officials were'appointed as follow: Starter, Mr C. Campbell; time-keepers, Messrs J. Smallbone and A. MathieGon; touch judges, Messrs J. J. Childs, C. Sparrow, and J. Burrows; call stewards, Mrs Plunkett, senr., Mrs Wilson, and Mr G. Plunkett; press steward, Mr R. McCrea; gatekeepers, Messrs IT. McCrea and R. Plunkett (senr.); judges (diving), Messrs N. McCrea and R. C. McGregor; check starter, Mr R. C. McGregor.
