MEETING OF DELEGATES Delegates of the Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis Sub-Association met last evening. Inter-club matches in the B grade only will be played next Saturday. The draw is as follows: —• Allenton I v. Highbank at Highbank; Te Marae I v. Allenton 2 at Allenton; Methven v. Ashburton at Ashburton; Te Marae 2 v. Chertsey at Te Marae. Ashburton Club members not engaged in matches will be welcome to use Te Marae Club courts, as the Browning Shield match and a B grade interclub match are to be played at Ashburton. On January 22, sixth round games will be played in both grades. It was decided that two trophies for the women’s championship doubles be purchased for the Gala Cup Tourney. The second Browning Shield match is to be played at Little River on Thursday, February 12, and the annual Tweedy Cup match against South Canterbury at Timaru on April 2. Mr L. Armstrong was appointed manager of the representative team to play at Leeston on Saturday. The following will be the Browning Shield team to play Ellesmere at'the Ashburton courts on Saturday at 10 a.m.: Men: —P. Murray (vice-captain); N. Gosnell. (captain), P. Jackson, W. Walls, R. Oakley, D. Watson, F. Allan, G. King. Women: —Mesdames R. W. Oakley, D. Wall, L. Porter, J. Brown, Misses J. Kiiworth, B. Vincent, M. Watson, G. Pauli.
