PUZZLE FOR POLICE
IDENTIFICATION OF BODY ADELAIDE, Jan. 7. Confusion over a man’s body found on Somerton Beach, near Glenelg, in a sitting position six weeks ago has resulted in the corpse being positively identified as four different men. The body has lain in the Adelaide morgue since December 1, since when the man lias been positively identified, first by a woman as Her son, second by a man as his brother, third, by a seaman as his shipmate, and fourth, by a man and woman as their neighbour. The police fear that they are still nowhere near finding out who the man actually is. No marks of violence were found on the body and analysts and pathologists have failed to establish the cause of death. The man has not been reported missing. The body bore no papers and the clothing tags had been cut from the clothes worn. Fingerprints have been circulated" throughout, Australia, without success.
