WOMAN BETRAYER OF FRENCH (Rec. 11.-10 a.m.) PARIS, Jan. - f . Mathilde Carre, known as “The Cat,” was sentenced to death by a Paris Court for betraying 35 members of the French Underground Movement to the Gestapo during the war. Carre was sent to London as a. member of the espionage ring by the Gestapo in November, 1041. The. British arrested her in 1942 and detained her in Holloway prison.
