WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE Ashburton experienced an outstandingly Avide range of temperature during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. today, there being 33 degrees difference between the maximum and minimum figures. The most pronounced fall came in the half hour after midnight. The grass minimum was 33 degrees, only 2.7 above a frost. Today was again very warm, with only a slight breeze. Yesterday there were 9.2 hours of sunshine. The maximum temperature during the period was 77 and the minimum 44 degrees, compared Avith 64 and 42 for the pre\ T ious 24 hours. The earth temperature to-day Avas 60.5 degrees, against 58-2 yesterday. The barometer rose sharply during the 24 hours, this morning’s reading being 30.03 inches against 29.67 yesterday at 9 a.m.
