ATOMIC ENERGY

WOMEN DEMAND ACCEPTANCE OF SOVIET PLANS BUDAPEST, Dec. 5. Delegates claiming to represent 100,000,000 women in 134 countries demanded at a meeting in Budapest today that the United Nations accept the Soviet proposals on armaments and atomic energy “as the only possible way to curb Avar preparations.” Delegates who were attending the conference of the International Federation of Democratic Women also called for “greatly increased efforts by women to preserve world peace and expose warmongering.” They resolved to set up a 16-nation commission to draft a women’s “Bill of Rights,” which is expected to include a demand for equal pay for equal work.
