ANGLICAN! BISHOP’S APPEAL SYDNEY, Dec. G. The High Court to-day dismissed an appeal by the Anglican Bishop of Bathurst against the banning of services conducted with 1 “Red Rook ritual. The Bench was equally divided on the appeal. The Bishop appealed against an injunction granted by Mr Justice Roper in the Equity Court restraining the Bishop from introducing any form of administering Sacrament other than that contained in the Prayer Book. The High Court varied Mr Justice Ropfer’s order by limiting it to certain churches in the Diocese of Bathurst. It also ruled against making the Sign of the Cross or the ringing of the Sanctus bell during the Communion service. . ol » The original suit was on behalf certain laymen who complained that the Bishop had committed breaches or trust upon which the churches had been established.
