WOMEN’S DIVISION
ASHBURTON BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Ashburton branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held in the Foresters’ I-lall on October 15. There was a good attendance over which Mrs Moon presided. Two new members were elected. Although Ashburton had contributed toward the cost of the new home in Auckland acquired by the Division, an effort will be made in. the near future to raise funds. Although there was not sufficient response to engage a bus to go to “Te Kitaroa” on November 15, funds are also being raised to help this effort. The Tinwalcl Drama Club belonging to the Women’s Institute presented two very interesting and delightful items. Mrs Moon thanked the performers on behalf of all present. Competitions resulted: Large bloom, Mrs E. Hayman 1, Mrs Millar 2, Mrs Wilkie 3; small bloom, Mrs E. Hayman 1, Mrs Watson 2, Mrs McGeagh 3; spike, Mrs E. Hayman 1, Mrs Millar 2, Mrs Watson 3; shrub, Mrs E. Hayman 1, Mrs Wilkie 2, Mi's McLean 3; egg-cup posy, Mrs Watson 1, Mrs Scales 2, Mrs Hayman 3.
