Mr Mostyn Thompson, formerly of Ashburton,,has accepted a position as assistant-engineer to the Housing Department at Hamilton. Mr G. McPherson, formerly of the staff of the Auckland City Council, will commence his duties as sanitary and general inspector at Ashburton on Monday. Miss M. F. Gallagher, supervisor of Pre-School Services, of the Education Department, arrived at Ashburton from Wellington this morning. Miss Gallagher will stay in Ashburton till Saturday. Mr A. S. Lewis, who has been on the staff of Messrs Higgins and Company for many years, has: left to take up a position with Messrs Russell and Co., Ltd. Mr Lewis was yesterday presented with an occasional table by Mr W. T. Corbett, on behalf of the staff. Best wishes for his future success were expressed to Mr Lewis by Mr Corbett, who acted in the unavoidable absence of the proprietor, Mr E. R. Easterbrook. ■ y *
