OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The Rev. J. N. Reid (Rakaia) presided over a good attendance oi' members at the annual meeting of the Lauriston branch of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union. The secretary. Mrs J. A. Mackie, read the annual report which outlined an interesting year of work and steady progress for missions. Miss Joyce Hay Ward (treasurer) pre
sealed the financial sUiieme it which revealed a small credit balance. Other reports presented Ayjere: Harvest Field (Mrs J. G. Marshall), Stamps (Mrs K. E. Cairns). Mr Reid gave a most interesting talk, his subject being “Missionary letters taken from the Bible. : The election of officers lor the ensuing year resulted: —President,.Mrs J. N. Reid (Rakaia); vice-presidents, Mrs C. Fyle and Mrs T. hi. Donk ; secretary, Mrs J. A. Mackie; treasurer, Miss J. Hayward; “Harvest Field” secretary, Mrs J. G. Marshall; stamp secretary, Mrs R. E. Cairns ; secretary to Maori Mission Birthday League, Miss L. Letham. It Avas decided to hold future meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month. The hostesses were Mesdames T. E. Doak and J. G. Marshall.
