U.S. RECOVERY PLAN

COMMUNIST OPPOSITION (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) PARIS, April 4. The annual conference bf the Com-munist-led Confederation of Labour passed unanimously a/resolution opposing the American European recovery programme “which imperilled the existence of essential French indttstries and was threatening vast unemploy ment.” The conference urged all workers and delegate* in joint industrial committees throughout France to help the committees in “defence of French industry against the menace of expan sion of American trusts.” The Communist Union chief, M. Benoit Franchon, said that industrial committees alone were capable of setting France’s affairs, in order, but asked: “Why develop' our production capacity when all doors are being throAvn wide open to American manufactured products.”
