TROOPS STAND BY

ARREST SEQUEL IN BOMBAY (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) BOMBAY, April 2. Police early this morning arrested five Communist leaders, including S. A. Dange, a member of the All-India Trade Union Congress and a member of the Bombay Legislative Assembly. S. S. Mirajkar, the president of the AllIndia Trade Union Congress, was also arrested. Troops are standing by as a precaution against possible disturbances. An Associated Press message from Eombay states that the police also arrested six leading members of the Communist Party. The police spokesman said that “the activities of some Communists in Bombay and some other districts are dangerous to public safety.”
