AMERICA WARNED
EISENHOWER’S FINAL REPORT (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 15. General Eisenhower, in a final report before retiring as Army Chief of Staff on February 7, said that if a “militant political party” succeeded in its objective of bringing Western Europe under Soviet domination, the United States would find itself facing “a despotic colossus.” The report, which was released today, declared that the United States must watch the Middle east and Far East, and that if American supply lines in the Mediterranean should be cut, the effects would be “instant and chaotic.” General Eisenhower called for a strengthening of United States forces, which he described as inadequate for defence. He appealed for support for the Marshall Plan, and continued United States backing of the United Nations. '
