Jubilee Ward Further subscriptions in aid of the fund initiated in, connection with the Diamond Jubilee for the purpose of erecting a convalescent ward at the Ashburton Hospital are acknowledged and bring the total received to date up to £179 0s lid.

Additional Playing Area—The proposed closing of Winter and Tancred Streets for the purpose of adding those portions to the Borough Schoolgrounds met with no opposition when a meeting of electors was held last night to hear any objections to the closing. There was a moderate attendance and a resolution was carried unanimously -supporting the Borough Council’s proposals in the matter.
