AIRLINER CRASHES
SIX OF CREW KILLED (Rec. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, July 7. Six members of the crew were killed and 12 passengers injured when a 8.A.0.C. York airliner from London, crashed while landing during a sandstorm south of Basra, says the British United Press Baghdad correspondent. One of the passengers was the Indian Minister of Labour, Jag Jirwan Rom, who was returning from talks in London. The York was to have landed at Basra, but it was ordered away from the airfield because the sandstorm made landing conditions dangerous.
