DEATH SENTENCE

SHOOTING OF R.A.F. SERGEANT (Rec. 11.5) HAMBURG, July 17. The War Crimes Court sentenced to death Fritz Schulze, 53-year old Ruhr policeman, for the murder of an R.A.F. sergeant who was shot while trapped in a crashed bomber. Evidence was given that the bomber crashed on a workshop at Solingeu on December 31, 1944. The sergeant and flying officer were trapped in it. Schulze approached the plane with a pistol in his hand, and several shots were heard soon afterwards. Both airmen were -shot in the head. Schulze was found not guilty of shooting the flying-officer.
