PUBLIC NOTICES. FERTILIZER RATIONING. APPEALS ON GROUNDS OF HARDSHIP. APPEALS for additional fertilizer for top-dressing purposes for the rationing year 1947/48 must he lodged with the Chairman of the District Fertilizer Committee by 19th July, 1947. Appeals will be considered only on the following bases: 1. From those farmers who have not appealed on any previous occasion, or for those properties for which no previous appeal has been lodged by either the existing or a former occupier. 2. From those farmers who can produce documentary evidence to the effect that they have brought in out of virgin country during the 1946/47 rationing period areas which have been sown down to new grass.. Appeals from returned servicemen from World War II can be considered at any time during the rationing year. All appeals must be in writing, addressed by the farmer to the Chairman, District Fertilizer Committee, care Department of Agriculture for the district in which the applicant farms. All applicants must state the name of the vendor from whom it is desired to obtain supplies of fertilizer in the event of the appeal being successful. Documentary evidence in support of appeals mentioned in paragraph 2 above should consist of a copy of the invoice for the grass seed and signed statements from two neighbouring farmers to the effect that the grass seed was sown on vii gin country.
