HUNT HOLDS PAPERCHASE

ASHBURTON CLUB OPENS SEASON To open its season, the Ashburton branch of tire Christchurch Hunt Club conducted a paper chase on Saturday. In addition to children, there were about 20 followers and the event was most successful, both from the point of view of riders and followers in cars. Jumping was of a high standard for the opening of the season, and this augurs rvell for coining meetings. Commencing at the Showgrounds corner, lhe trail was laid across the properties of Messrs H. D. Cameron, P. Keenan, E. H. Scott and A. Morris, of Seafield, and W. Lister, of Fairton. It ended along the back road to the radar station. Miss Janet Grigg, on Challenger, and Mr K. Copland, on Mittens, were the hounds. Children who took part were Desmond Green on Sandy, Kelvin Green on Brownie, David Nicoll on Jimmy, Beverley Hyde on Trixie, and Edna Moore on Star.
