DULL AND COOL TO-DAY The weather in Ashburton to-day was dull and cool, with scarcely any breeze. The Government Meteorologist, . at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: A deep depression is moving on to the North Island and a cold front is crossing the South Island. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Southt-wtesterly winds prevailing and becoming fresh or strong on the coast; weather fair to cloudy at first, but occasional rain developing about and north of Banks Peninsula by tomorrow ; temperatures cold. Further outlook: Similar conditions.
