Japanese Criminal’s Suicide. —Hieo Chilcami, the former army surgeon who allegedly removed the heart from a live Australian soldier to demonstrate how it continued to heat, committed suicide after receiving a summons from the Allied legal authorities, states a Tokio message. He left a letter for his wife stating: “I know I cannot escape punishment. I am taking my life because I cannot endure the humiliation.”
