Record Price For Book. —An American record, and, possibly, a world’s record price for a book was paid for one of the 11 existing copies of the Bay Psalm Book published in IG4O, and the first book printed in the Anglo-American colonies. The book brought 150,000 dollars when sold at auction on behalf of the Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney Charitable Trust, and the proceeds go to the community hospital- at Glen Cove, Long Island.
