FIFTEEN KILLED

EXPLOSION IN FREEZING PLANT (Rec. 11.0 a.m.) NEW YORK Dec. 12. It is estimated that 15 were killed and 24 injured and .20 trapped in debris of two buildings following a fire and explosion in a freezing plant. The explosion blew out the walls of the plant, and also the walls of an adjoining seven-storey tenement in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The explosion is believed to have been caused by the ignition of ammonia tanks in a disused freezing plant, which shattered the adjoining tenement. More than 20 persons have already been sent to hospieal, and rescuers and firemen are still digging for those believed to be missing.
