LIME SILO AT WINSLOW

MINISTER’S STATEMENT , A lime silo is to be erected in the Ashburton County. The Minister of Railways (the Hon. R. Semple) gave this information in the House of representatives this week in reply to a question by Mr J. Acland (National, Temuka), who also inquired whether the department intended to cart lime loose in trucks. Mr Acland said it was quite obvious that it was necessary to get away from the present method of carting lime in bags. The Minister said the material was coming to hand, and the first silo was to be put up very shortly at Winslow.
