PALESTINE ISSUE

BOYCOTT OF LONDON ' CONFERENCE (Rec. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. G. Reuter’s correspondent in Jerusalem says it is reliably reported that King Ibn Saud and the Lebanese President El Khoury, have asked the Palestine Arab Higher Committee to reconsider its decision, not to attend the London conference.

It is understood that the committee replied noncommitally, and detailed its reasons for boycotting the conference. So far no replies have been received from any of the 16 Jewish organisations or individuals invited to attend the Palestine conference. The London Press Association says it seems unlikely that the Jewish Agency will be at the conference when it is opened, but hoped to participate later. ■ , Delegates from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Yemen arrived to-day. The secretary-general of the Arab League, Assam Bey. arrives to-mor-row.
