Mr Hector Christie, 0.8. E., who for the last nine years has been Dominion Chief Commissioner of Boy Scouts in New Zealand, will resign on medical advice. Mr Christie has been actively associated with the movement for almost 25 years.—P.A. <
The Boy Scouts’ Association announces that Sir Joseph G. D. Ward. Christchurch, has been appointed leader of the New Zealand contingent to the sixth world jamboree, which will be held at Moisson, on the river Seine 45 miles 'from Paris, in August, 1947.—P.A.
The Rev. A. H. Scrivin, general secretary of the Methodist Overseas Missions, is visiting the Ashburton district. He will preach at the evening service of the Baring Square Church to-morrow. Moving pictures of the activities of New Guinea native Christians in assisting British and American soldiers will be shown by Mr Scrivin during his visit. He is the guest of Miss Chapman, 146 Tanered Street.
