N.Z. BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS
ASHBURTON REPRESENTATIVES Three boxers from Ashburton will represent the local association at the N.Z. championship tournament to lie held at Auckland horn September 23 to 25 inclusive. This decision was reached at a recent meeting of the committee, and Ihe following were nominated: Ban-tam-weight, C. Hay; middle-weight, R. Tonks; light-heavy- and heavyweight, T. Tonks. Mr W. Lister was also nominated as a judge and referee, - and Mr D. Smith as a judge for the. championships. Mr H. Lloyd (trainer), Mr J. Weir (manager) and Mr D. Smith (delegate from the local association) will accompany the team, and it is also expected that a number of other enthusiasts will make the trip north.
PROFESSIONS v. AUCTIONEERS The following team will represent (the Banks and Professions against tho Auctioneers at the Domain to-morrow at 3.30 p.m.:—P. J. Murray, J. B. Cowan, J. M. Connolly, K. Nicoll, G. C. Nicoll, W. Vaughan, E. Service, D. Bowden, D. Watt, L. Harper, Harbutt, J. Hattaway, T. Newton, Rev. Steedman and Captain Sutcliffe.
