METEOR CRASHES
PILOT ESCAPES UNHURT (Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, August 23. The pilot of a Meteor jet plane, which crashed into haystacks, in r a field in' Yorkshire, Avalked uninjured from the wreckage and ’phoned an R.A.F. station for a car, says the “Daily Mail.” This is the second Meteor to crash, in which the pilot escaped unhurt. The first crash occurred in Wiltshire on June 19.
