GOODS RELEASED

NOT NEEDED BY SERVICES

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 22. By order of the Ministry of Supply, British warehouses must disgorge 3,000,000 garments, most of them coupon free, which are no longer required by the services. They are mainly men’s and women’s- underclothes, and will be stamped with Government labels, mainly the letters W. 0., with a broad arrow between them.

It is stated that when the prices are announced they will be found to be very reasonable. Coupons will be needed for children’s garments released by the women’s voluntary service and for 63,000 pairs of unlabelled pyjamas.
