CHURCHILL’S HOUSE
To Become National * Property (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug.| 8. Mr Churchill’s house and an estate at Chartwell, Westerham, Kent, are to become national property. The National Trust announces that the property was bought from Mr Churchill by a group of friends, who also raised an endowment for its maintenance. ' The Churchill family will live in the house during his lifetime. Mr Churchill has promised to leave in the house a certain number of articles of national interest.
