BOLTON’S ROAD
RATEPAYERS SEEK IMPROVEMENT Ratepayers in Bolton’s Road recently petitioned the Ashburton County Council, seeking that it he formed and shingled so that a more convenient mail service might be operated. A report on the position was asked from the engineer (Mr It. L. Lindsay) and he reported to yesterday alternoon’s meeting that a length of 1 mile f)t> chains was affected. For the section from Beeves' house to Trevor’s Road tint cost would be .£2lO. while, from then on to the Maronan-Craeroft highway, it would he £243, a total cost of £459. 11 was decided to hold the matter over until the engineer secures an assurance from the Postmaster that a better mail service will be instituted.
