The Korero Club—The dramatic performance given on Thursday night by the Te Korero Club members was notwithstanding the inclement weather well attended by the members of the club and their friends. The threeact comedy “Snowball” was performed in a manner which pleased the audience. The cast, comprised: Mesdames E. G. Crisp, and E. Saunders, Miss K. Orr and Messrs H. H. Fooks, T. Rollitt, W. D. Millar, and H. Curtis. The stage manager was Mr S. Salek and the prompter Miss Pearce. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO (From the “Guardian,” July 9, 1921). Lighting in Courtroom —It is a longtime since the local Magistrate’s Court has met under artificial light, the lengthy civil case which occupied the attention of the Magistrate yes terday until 5.50 p.m. being the first for this year. Therefore, perhaps, it is not surprising that the lighting arrangements of the dingy courtroom are not all that they might he. The concluding stages of the ca-se yesterday were heard in the gloom produced by the efforts of a dozen antiquated fishtail burners and two mantle lights.
