NEW DIRECTOR OF WAR MOBILISATION (Rec. 12.45) WASHINGTON, June 14. President Truman announced that John R. Steelman had been appointed Director of the Office of War Mobilisation and Reconversion. Mr Steelman is continuing as Labour adviser to the President. Paul McNutt has been nominated as the first United States Ambassador to the Philippines. He is at present High Commissioner. . The President said that Myron Raylor will continue as Presidential Ambassador at the Vatican until world peace is secured, as be had recently told a group of Protestant clergymen.
