DARING ROBBERY
TWO MEN STEAL £167 i OFFICE IN HAMILTON ENTERED V (P.A.) HAMILTON, This Day A daring robbery took place at the office of the C. D, Street Construction Co'., Victoria Street North, yesterday afternoon. Two men, one of whom was a Maori, entered the office where only one assistant, Miss Shirley Parsons (17) was on duty. The men asked for work, but Miss x Parsons said there was no one but herself in the office. They then pushed ‘ back the counter flap and entered the main office. The Maori? struck Miss Parsons on the face, and pushed her into a side room, shutting the door upon her. The men then made off with a bag containing £167 in cash made up in pay envelopes, which had been lying on the table. Miss Parsons was so frightehed that she was unable to give, the alarm for a considerable time, waiting until other assistants returned to the office. Senior-Detective W. It. Murray and a party of police are conducting widespread inquiries, but nb arrest has yet been made.
