UNIONS MOVING
ACTION AGAINST COMMUNISTS \ \ (Rec. 11.40 a)m) SYDNEY, This Day. Powerful unions have ' united to purge from the New South Wales and Australian Labour Party executive officials who have nrit opposed Communism. They are negotiating to replace these men with uncompromising anliCommunists when the State Labour Party annual conference elects a new executive next week-end. The move is part, of a campaign being waged by a group of leading anticommunist union officials to smash the power of -the Communist ' Party and force the McKell Government to take acton against Communist-inspir-ed strikes. Meanwhile the Communist Party lias suggested that the Labour Party meet it in, conference tp discuss a pact to ensure closer unity between the parties in \ the Federal elections this year. n
